Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
1. Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
2. Expertise in one or more areas of precision agriculture including sensors, auto-guidance, imaging, variable rate application, yield monitoring, GIS, GPS, modeling, remote sensing, spectroscopy, etc.
3. Demonstrated record of scholarship including ability to conduct lab and field research, prepare publications for refereed journals, and present research results at technical meetings
4. Strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Requirements:
1. Experience with SAS, ArcGIS, Erdas Imagine or ENVI, Matlab, etc
2. Experience with sensing instrument such as spectro-radiometers, imaging sensors, machine vision systems, remote sensing systems, etc

Job Description:
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work in the field of precision agriculture applied to crops grown in North Dakota. Research areas may include developing decision support systems for variable rate application of crop inputs, crop and soil monitoring, calibration and testing of variable rate equipment, etc. The position will be situated in Fargo, North Dakota. However, this person may have to travel to various experiment fields for field instrumentation and data collection, work with other scientists and growers, and present research results at conferences and stakeholder meetings. The person is expected to write grant proposals and research articles, work with various stakeholder groups such as commodity boards, and supervise both graduate and undergraduate students.
