Bachelor's degree in Education or a closely related field and two years of current & progressive professional level work experience in K-12 directly related information technology training & support. At least one of these years must include PowerSchool experience.
Job Description:
Summary of Work: PowerSchool is a statewide K-12 student information system. EduTech provides North Dakota K-12 educators and students with opportunities that extend learning in the classroom and beyond focusing on the use of technology to improve student achievement. The successful candidate will provide implementation, training and support for schools using PowerSchool.
Successful candidate will facilitate PowerSchool implementations for new customers. Work also involves activities associated with providing customized professional development to K-12 educators and administrators, who use PowerSchool, as well as providing responses to helpdesk tickets and maintaining customer relations. The incumbent in this position will report to the PowerSchool Manager.
Individual must have strong customer service skills supporting users at all levels. Must be able to work well with people and possess strong communication skills to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical and technical users for activities associated with the implementation, training and development to PowerSchool customers.
Individual must be able to perform in a fast-paced, progressive, and challenging team environment; possess strong analytical and problem solving skills. Individual must also be able to work in a deadline intensive work environment and possess the organizational and multi-tasking skills needed to organize work and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities:
Conduct needs analysis to determine training requirements of PowerSchool customers on a quarterly basis.
Research, evaluate, and implement various training methodologies; Schedule and present basic and advanced PowerSchool sessions; operate and maintain a variety of training equipment; and maintain PowerSchool training documents in a content management system according to guidelines.
Provide input to the budgeting process relative to training costs; develop methodology to be used in evaluating training; develop training standards based on organizational goals and objectives; and maintain online tutorials and Web 2.0 tools that provide just in time training for customers.
Provide responses to helpdesk tickets and maintain customer relations; provide day to day phone and e-mail support regarding PowerSchool issues; resolve issues according to organizational guidelines; work with vendor to resolve large scale application issues; and work closely with other divisions to resolve issues affecting customer support.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with PowerSchool customers and assure that service levels meet customer's expectations.
Facilitate PowerSchool implementations for new customers: conduct demos as requested by school districts; provide consultations regarding the data model and initial input of data into the PowerSchool application; assist with the data extract from previous student information system if needed.
Schedule and conduct initial PowerSchool administrative training and teacher training; document improvements needed for the implementation process; provide regular communication to leadership.
Maintain proficiency with PowerSchool application and database; research and conduct testing with beta versions of PowerSchool before release to customers; and assist in the maintenance and updates to the PowerSchool support site and blog.
Requires extensive overnight travel (up to 2-3 days per week) to remote locations to deliver professional development and other services to school districts as well as the ability to work independently.
