Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
Ph.D. in agronomy, genetics, biology, plant sciences, botany, or a related field.
- Satisfactory completion of at least 9 semester credit hours in college-level genetics and/or related courses
- demonstrated laboratory research skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- ability to work safely and as a team member

Preferred Requirements:
University teaching experience and experience in both classical and molecular genetics including cytogenetics, genomics and biochemistry. Teaching in an introductory agronomy course and experience in plant agriculture.

Job Description:
The Assistant Professor of Practice position in Plant Sciences is a 100% teaching position
(~12 credits/semester), nine month, non-tenure track appointment. The primary responsibility of the position is to teach PLSC, BIOL, BOT, ZOO 315 (Genetics) and PLSC,BIOL, BOT, ZOO 315L (Genetics Laboratory) each spring semester; and PLSC 110 World Food Crops each fall semester. The Assistant Professor of Practice will be responsible for teaching most of the lab sections for both courses but will also supervise/coordinate graduate students(s) that teach in either course's laboratory sections. The material taught in the lab sections should coordinate/support the lecture component. Research activities, if any, will be outside of this position and contingent on obtaining grants to support the work. Participation in university activities is expected.
