Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree is required. Five years of relevant energy efficiency and renewable energy experience is preferred. Applicants must demonstrate a broad understanding of energy efficiency and renewable energy. They must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with federal energy programs is desirable. Personal computer literacy, to include word processing and spreadsheet database creation and maintenance is required. The successful applicant must receive a Satisfactory or higher interview score, have a valid North Dakota driver license, and be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Job Description: Summary of Work: Assist the North Dakota State Energy Program with energy efficiency projects and activities associated with implementing the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act within the Office of Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency. This position includes an array of duties and responsibilities as outlined in the Tasks section of this vacancy announcement. A willingness to learn, an ability to respond to changing circumstances, strong time management and attention to detail, are some of the key attributes required for this position.
Tasks: - Assist with the programs within the Office Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency. - Respond to information requests from individuals, businesses and local units of government. - Respond to information requests from the Department of Commerce Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, Governor's Office, other government agencies and the media. - Prepare periodic energy reports. - Conduct on-site monitoring of funded projects and activities. - Coordinate activities to advance Commerce goals and objectives with other department divisions. - Represent Commerce and/or Office of Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency at public meetings. - Stay informed of new technologies associated with energy efficiency and renewable energy. - Assist with new program development and implementation to promote energy efficiency. - Establish and maintain working relationships with national, state and local partners to advance renewable energy and energy efficiency.
