Job Description:
TMI Hospitality of Fargo is seeking a Construction Superintendent to join their team! This position will provide technical supervision to subcontractors with light administrative duties. Typical tasks may include: assisting in coordination of procurement, overseeing day to day operations of all materials needed to complete projects, reading blueprints, subcontractor coordination, scheduling and quality control for construction projects.

Essential Functions:
50% Completes Construction Superintendent activities as needed
• Coordinates all subcontractor work.
• Responds to field staff questions regarding contractors, materials, supplies, etc.
• Verifies contractor insurance requirements are met prior to start of job.
• Makes shipping and storage arrangements if necessary.
• Notifies contractors and project managers of product deliveries.
• Contacts and/or responds to accounting and purchasing staff questions related to project coordination.
• Assists with resolving project related issues.
• Continuously reviews status of project with project manager and communicates any project changes.
• Completes inventory of materials upon project completion.
• Determines disposition of leftover material i.e. return to vendor, store at property, or ship to new location.
• Reviews and approves subcontractor progress payments.
• Identifies and resolves process problems.
• Ensure all safety procedures are in place on each project.
• Conducts weekly safety meetings.
• Walk the job extensively to ensure quality control and safety standards.
• Schedule engineering testing in accordance with local jurisdiction codes.
• Build relationships/rapport with building officials and other inspectors.
• When needed, obtain or solicit bids and send to corporate office for approval.
• Uphold communication between corporate office, inspectors, subcontractors and suppliers.

40% Provides technical supervision to subcontractors
• Assigns and delegates responsibilities and provides work direction.
• Assists with the day to day operation of subcontractors to ensure all deadlines are met.
• Enforce safety guideline to subcontractors.
• Ensures timely completion of each trade and overall project schedule.
• Study and understand blue prints in detail
• Ensure all items fit in spaces as shown on plans.
• Coordination and sequencing of trade work.
• Conduct weekly progress meetings with all job forepersons.

10% Provides clerical support and other duties as assigned• Files purchase orders.
• Ensures weekly schedule updates
• Consistent e-mail communications to corporate office
• Completes project materials checklist and labor purchase orders for each project.
• Completes other duties as assigned.
• Takes weekly job site photos of the job and forwards to corporate office.

Education, Experience:
Minimum 10 years experience in construction, prefer two-year college degree and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
