Division Environmental, Health and Safety Manager
Position Summary Incumbent is responsible for the administration of safety policies, all environmental permits and maintenance of all environmental files in manner consistent with Federal, State and company guidelines procedures, and programs in assigned area of responsibility including serving as the staff specialist in safety by developing and carrying out specific procedures with the line organization that effectively control accident and health exposures in the company and minimize OSHA citations. Position acts as a liaison between related Corporate functions, and management and team members of business unit for the implementation of these programs and is responsible for providing guidance, awareness and proactive leadership and solutions to ensure safe and reliable operations while acting as a change leader, educator, advocate, and mentor for company's safety and environmental culture. Strong organizational and communication skills as well as the ability to multitask are a must. Assigned area of responsibility encompasses up to 200 team members in 25 facilities. This position may have supervisory responsibility and receives general direction from the Division General Manager or business unit management team. Incumbent will spend 70% of his/her time working in the field at the plant facilities and job sites. Incumbent is required to review and recommend solutions to problems that involve a number of possible alternatives, which may not be clearly defined. Guidance is available from policies and/or management. Incumbent provides information, advice, and interpretation for use by others in taking action. Incumbent plans own work in order to properly perform job and meet scheduled deadlines Confer with production managers to assist in specific clarification of details associated with safety policy environmental policy and processes. Direct process changes in conjunction with production managers to maintain a safe, healthy workplace throughout the division.
General Responsibilities: • Develop and deliver safety training to employees, supervisors, and plant management to support Safety program including: new hire safety training (company), new hire driver training, MSHA required training, OSHA required training and department of transportation required training • Conduct periodic inspects of facilities properties, machinery and equipment to ensure compliance with state and federal safety and health regulations as well as company policies and procedures. • Work with plant supervisors to ensure that employees have the necessary PPE • Investigate all workplace accidents including vehicular accidents in order to ascertain root and contributing causes for use in recommending future preventative measures and further development of the safety program. Prepare, coordinate, and implement accident follow-up training in order to disseminate pertinent accident information, causal factors and corrective actions. • Prepare written reports for all workplace accidents including vehicular accidents with recommendations for corrective actions. • Establish / Maintain the Company's environmental plan, environmental programs and all environmental permits in a manner consistent with Federal, State and Company guidelines. Maintain and ensure all location specific manuals are in compliance and up to date and presented in a format workforce can understand.
Qualifications: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and/or KNOWLEDGE: May require a Bachelor's degree in a related area and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
Work Environment: The incumbent is occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts and in outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Compensation: Compensation package is dependent upon qualifications and experience
