Job Description:

Fly Ash Driver - responsible for delivering fly ash to a designated well site, unload the fly ash into the pit and drive to the mines to reload with fly ash.

Work hours vary dues to weather conditions and driving distance to the well sites.

Must have a Class A CDL. Must have acceptable driving record and be able to comply with federally mandated drug testing program.

PPE requires included steel toe boots, coveralls, vests, respirator, safety glasses, hard hat and gloves.

Complete standard pre-trip checks on trucks with additions of hoses, felt, tape, paperwork as needed, and PPE.
Attend drivers meeting to go over safety equipment, discuss weather, timing to coincide with best weather conditions, safety issues for the day, road closures and site assignments.
Drive to site following lead truck. On site the supervisor or lead truck will be aware of surrounding area, take wind reading and direction, inspect entire site, take pictures, contact other contractors to shutdown/remove other equipment as needed, and inspect pit area and determine location on pit to place hoses.
Drivers will set up truck- hook up 3 inch blower hose, remove and hook up 20 foot of 4-5 inch discharge hose, attach 4 inch tube to 20 foot hose, place 3x4 sheet of felt to end of discharge hose, put tube in pit (approximately 6 inches above cutting material on water), and use spotter to adjust tucks for proper placement.
Driver will begin unloading procedure- bring tank pressure to 7-10 psi, open blow down tube to remove dust from discharge tube, begin discharging material at 1-3 psi, leave valve on full tank and no line pressure, adjust blow down valve as needed to control material discharge. Upon completion of pd close valve off and bring tank pressure back to 7-10 psi. The procedure will be completed for each pod. When take is empty use full line pressure to clear lines.
After unloading the truck the driver will pull the truck forward so hoses are out of pit area. The hoses will disassembles and tubes and hoses will be stored. Assist other drivers with hose storage and disassembly as needed.
Drivers will leave well site and drive to designated site to load fly ash. At the mines the driver will sign in, pull into chute to load. The driver will don harness and open hatch. After loading fly ash the driver will close hatch. Ticket will be completed and driver will drive back to Minot.
Upon returning to point of dispatch the driver will fuel the truck and complete post check of the truck. Paperwork will be completed and turned into the office.
