Life on the trading floor of a Wall Street bank was never boring for John Zimmerman. So why did he move to North Dakota after getting his MBA from Dartmouth and working six years in New York City?
For one thing, the business climate was so ripe. During the last two years he has been building Intervention Energy LLC, a new energy holdings company that he started with East Coast partners. Essentially, he takes New York money and puts it to work in North Dakota's oil patch.
John says, "Having traveled extensively and met people from all over the world, I don't think there is a good comprehension of how genuine and special North Dakota and its people are. People the world over crave this sort of authenticity."
John plans to grow the company. He says, "We are well-capitalized, have a good understanding of the market and access to additional capital. I've discovered the opportunities here are beyond what we expected and we're more excited about the potential each day."
