After 31 years of living in northern California, Dessie Baxter says she made the best decision ever for her family. They pulled up their roots and moved to North Dakota.
As donor recruitment manager for United Blood Services, Dessie's better pay and benefits give her family room to breathe. Her husband, Ryan, has been able to stay home to get their three kids settled into their new lives. Now ready to re-enter the workforce, he is looking forward to it. Ryan says, "With so many jobs available, I feel like I can reinvent myself here."
About her work, Dessie says, "I enjoy working with the other business leaders. I have found that people here are not out for themselves but for what is best all around."
Dessie is thrilled about the clean, safe affordable community they discovered in Bismarck. They love the quality schools and abundant recreational opportunities. She is so effusive about her new home, come spring, her parents are moving here too.
