Rick Kasper has the best of both worlds- he's president of a cool company and has a thriving family life. The company is Global Electric Motorcars, a Chrysler company, the largest producer and seller of neighborhood electric vehicles in the world. And he lives and works in Fargo, North Dakota, a city he calls one of the most family-and-business-friendly communities you could find.
After 15 years in Los Angeles, Rick and his wife knew they wanted to raise their two boys in a community where they could be part of their lives. "In North Dakota," he said, "we spend time with our kids rather than with commuters on the freeway."
Rick believes GEM also greatly benefits from its North Dakota location where it employs about 100 people. He appreciates working with people who share his Midwestern values and have a strong work ethic. He also values the rapid response time his company gets from North Dakota officials. "From the Governor and our U.S. Congressmen to the local mayor, we get outstanding support on every level in this state."
Rick and his family enjoy local sporting events, restaurants and an impressive variety of arts and entertainment.
