Essential Job Functions

Title and Description

Coordinates and facilitates safety issues and the process of a root cause analysis (RCA) for safety events in collaboration with management and staff from the involved departments. Providing facilitation and support of RCA’s to include writing corrective action plans. Provides feedback to hospital leaders and team members, assisting them in identifying and implementing corrections in areas of improvement in patient safety.

Participates in patient safety and Joint Commission unannounced rounds. Communicates findings to front line leaders, assisting with the removal of barriers.

Responsible for coordinating Patient Safety and Process Improvement processes related to Evidenced-based practice, Joint Commission Patient Safety Standards, Patient Safety Indicators and Hospital Acquired Conditions.

Coordinates and facilitates the reporting of patient safety related concerns through a process improvement system (Clarity). Acts as a resource for compliance reporting and accreditation requirements according to established guidelines and within established time frames.

Serves as a resource on patient safety teams and committees.

Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

• Demonstrates understanding and follows infection control policies and procedures according to standard operating procedure.
• Maintains requirements for age specific competencies for the position and demonstrates the knowledge or principles of growth and developments and the skills necessary to provide patient/customer care/services.
• Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of and compliance with: ? All pertinent safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines.
? Working safely, without causing harm or risk to self, others or property.
? The work environment safety procedures and prompt reporting of unsafe practices, procedures, accidents, injuries or other safety violations to the Leader.
? The use of all safety equipment and personal protective equipment.

-ND RN or Compact State License
-Bachelor's in Nursing Required
-Master's in related field preferred
-5 years of related experience required
