Job Description:
Following is a list of responsibilities for this position and is not intended to be a complete list.
Answer 9-1-1 system, dispatch law enforcement, ambulance, fire departments and other agencies. Answer and prioritize incoming calls on a multi line telephone system, determine urgency and nature of complaint, and dispatch appropriate agency. Utilize radio communications with units operating in the field. Operate a teletype system to retrieve vehicle information, driver information, criminal histories, wants and warrants and to enter and make inquiries in the National Crime Information Center System . Utilize a Computer Aided Dispatch program to enter information on calls received and agencies dispatched. Monitor the National Warning and Emergency alert System for a six county area. Operate cable interrupt systems and outdoor warning siren systems.

There is night shift differential pay between the hours of 10PM and 6AM. Benefits: Vacation, Holiday and Sick Leave, Health Insurance, Retirement Package.

No experience necessary
On the job training is provided following hire during the probationary period
High School Diploma or GED
Fingerprint, background checks and pre-employment testing required
