Job Description:
Spherion Staffing is looking for the right person to fill the role of Structural Steel Drafter/Detailer. The Structural Steel Drafter/Detailer will produce detailed drawings using Tekla. This person will draw rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings and structures, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data.

Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
Pay: $18-25/hour DOE

Responsibilities:
• Have the responsibility for organizing specific engineering projects by performing ongoing drafting services
• Provide involvement, support, and technical coordination for the development of the structural engineering construction documents
• Provide detailed drawings of structural components and their connections of steel and other structural materials
• Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking, dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another and relation of various parts to whole structure or project
• Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials and other physical sciences to complete drawings
• Uses computer assisted drafting equipment and software

• Associates degree or completion of a technical trade school
• Three years or more related work experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training
• Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints and procedure manuals
• Must be familiar with rate information using standards that can be measured or checked, work within precise limits or standards of accuracy, look at flat drawings, pictures and blueprints and visualize how they would look as solid objects with height, width and depth, see detail in objects or drawings and recognize slight differences in shapes and shadings
