Job Description:
This position reports to the Assistant Director of International Student Services. The purpose of this position is:
1) Provide immigration and other regulatory support for international students
2) Advise and counsel international students
3) Coordinate programming activities for international student and alumni both on and off campus
4) Coordinate the orientation program
5) Assist International Student Services staff in developing communication plans for prospective and incoming students
6) Assist with general office activities
7) Provide customer service and contribute to a professional team work environment
8) Work safely


Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree
2. International skills including evidence of sensitivity to and acceptance of people from diverse cultures
3. Experience in an international student services office, or closely related work
4. Professional experience working in a higher education environment
5. Experience studying, working or living abroad
6. Foreign language training and experience
7. Experience with Microsoft Office
8. Excellent written communication skills
9. Evidence of ability and use of judgment in organizing tasks and setting priorities

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience with federal immigration regulations, especially non-immigrant regulations
2. Experience working with new international students in particular, either in an admission, orientation, or international student advising environment
3. Professional experience working in the United States in a higher education environment
4. Experience with activity coordinating
5. Experience using ImageNow
6. Experience using PeopleSoft
