Job Description:
The department of Kinesiology and Human Performance at Valley City State University is seeking a full time, tenure-track faculty member to join the team.

The primary responsibility of this position is to teach courses as part of the Physical Education and Health Education degree program. Many of these courses will also include students from Exercise Science and Sport Management and Athletic Training.

Other main duties include:
• Teaching courses in Physical Education and Health Education as well as other curricular related content.
• Recruiting and advising a diverse student population.
• Potential supervision of student teachers.
• Coordination and supervision of off campus practicum experiences.
• Engaging in appropriate service in the department, university, and academic community.
• Meaningful collaboration with area professionals
• Developing professionally and staying current with course content, evaluating teaching methods and working to improve student learning and engagement.
The salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications, and typically ranges from $41,000 (Instructor) to $45,000 (Assistant Professor) annually. Valley City has a population of approximately 6,500 and is located 60 miles west of Fargo on Interstate 94, making the campus easily accessible both from the east and west. Minimum Qualifications:
• Earned MS/MA/M.Ed with a major course of study in physical education, health education, or a related field. Experience and/or willingness to utilize technology in course delivery. A valid driver's license is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Doctorate preferred
• Membership in at least one state or national physical education or health education organization (e.g. SHAPE)
• Expertise in adapted physical education
• Strong desire to teach, knowledge of teaching methods, and excellent communication skills
• Experience teaching, especially at the university level
• Experience in assessment
• Evidence of a strong commitment to student-centered learning
• Ability and interest in developing online courses
• Demonstrated proficiency with the use of technology in the classroom
