Job Description:
The following is a list of responsibilities for this position and is not intended to be a complete list. Provide advanced administrative support to two separate department managers and serve as the first point-of-contact for the Stutsman County Emergency Management/9-1-1/Communications Center and Veterans Service Offices regarding telephone and in-person inquiries. Answering and responding to incoming calls, transferring of calls and taking messages on a multi-line phone system. Assist in preparing various monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports. Have a working understanding of rural 9-1-1 addressing. Record, draft, edit and distribute Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) meeting minutes. Obtain, manage, reconcile and maintain Tier II information from hazardous materials facilities. Locate files and retrieve information for veterans and/or dependents. Record military discharges and provide certified copies of recorded discharges. Complete claim and eligibility forms and submit paperwork to appropriate agencies for veterans and/or dependents. Maintain confidential records in accordance with the requirements of the data privacy laws and HIPAA. Adhere to the requirements and regulations of U.S. Code - Title 38 "Veterans' Benefits".

Requirements:
Minimum experience and/or training requirements:Position requires a minimum of a two year post high school education in business administration or bookkeeping/accounting plus two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience at time of hire. Must be able to complete state and federal emergency management training; Training, Responsibility, Involvement and Preparation of Claims (TRIP) Certification and other accredited training as required. Knowledge of effectively working with the public, computer experience, bookkeeping/accounting, spreadsheets, databases and maintaining accurate records is important.
