Job Description:
Residential Mortgage Loan Underwriter (#22457)

Preference given for experience underwriting conventional, FHA, VA loans and DE designation.
Responsibilities include analyzing employment profiles, credit strength, property characteristics, and all other information pertinent to the credit decision process on each mortgage application, as presented by the mortgage loan officer; verifying the accuracy of supporting employment, down payment, appraisal, and financial documentation received; conforming to all disclosure requirements within time allowances; rendering approval/decline decision recommendations on incoming applications consistent with internal, secondary market and insurer policies and guidelines; selecting required conditions on each application to be satisfied prior to funding and reviewing documentation for compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines. Education equivalent to a two-year college degree or a minimum of three years of related experience with progressively responsible duties and knowledge of mortgage lending is required. Ability to counsel, communicate, make good decisions and resolve complicated issues as required. Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills and personal computer skills are required with a strong desire to work towards detail and accuracy with patience for repetitive work.
