Job Description:
Provide academic support services to student-athletes at North Dakota State University. Academic support responsibilities include: working with at-risk students, monitoring for academic progress and eligibility, referring to campus-wide academic services, developing academic intervention plans for students. Requires extensive collaboration with coaches, faculty members, campus support services and academic advisors to ensure student-athletes are in NCAA academic compliance. Other duties include acting as an advocate for student-athletes, identifying academically successful students for recognition, and conducting NCAA required exit interviews. Meeting with athletic recruits and assisting with summer bridge programming and assisting with teaching EDUC 123. The coordinator must maintain an understanding of NCAA rules and regulations, especially those related to academics The Coordinator will work under the direction of the Associate Director of Athletic Academics in the Office of Student Success Programs and will be part of a team of academic support staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Work experience in a college environment
• Demonstrated ability to plan and execute educational programming
• Demonstrated understanding of development needs of student-athletes
• Experience with individual student support and development
• Ability to collaborate closely with diverse populations and constituencies
• Computer skills
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree
• Direct Experience with academic support and education programming for college student athletes
• Knowledge of NCAA academic rules
