Summary of Position: This position is responsible for planning, maintaining and operating the University’s buildings and grounds, and provide personal safety, security, emergency management and risk management services to all members of the DSU community.
Reporting Relationship: This position reports to the Vice President of Finance and Administration
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facility Management, Construction Management, Business, Criminal Justice, or related field
Five (5) years directly related work experience
Licensed and/or certified in one of the following vocations: boiler, electrician, HVAC technician, plumber or related field
Experience supervising employees
Excellent team leader skills
Excellent customer service skills for both internal and external customers
Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office suites (specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and perform duties in a professional manner
Demonstrated ability to communicate well in both oral and written methods
CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to become certified in a timely manner
FEMA Certified in Emergency Management/Higher Education or ability to become certified in a timely manner
Valid ND Drivers License or ability to obtain one in a timely manner
Ability to learn and adapt to new and changing technology, hardware and software
Familiarity with PeopleSoft, notification systems, building safety/lockdown systems
Three – five (3-5) years’ experience in management
Experience in, or knowledge of, safety, security, emergency management, risk management, loss control, worker’s compensation, FEMA procedures, and/or other related areas
Experience in Higher Education
Experience with Clery Act reporting
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Oversee the maintenance of the University’s facilities and property
Oversee the safety of the university campus
Perform administrative duties over personnel, finances and resources of the department

Compensation: Includes a salary of $60,000 - $75,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience. The comprehensive fringe benefit package, includes employer-paid full-family coverage health insurance, retirement, tuition waiver benefits and much more.
Position Details: Staff Classification (1000 broadband), 12-month term, full-time (100%), benefitted, exempt from FLSA overtime
