The Senior Human Resources Specialist is responsible for acting as lead in administering activities related to all aspects of human resources including recruitment and staffing, benefits administration, employee relations, recordkeeping, and ensuring compliance with all applicable rules, regulations and laws pertaining to employment. This position serves as a lead resource to managers and staff on human resources related topics and serves as a project lead to other department staff. This position assists the Vice President of Human Resources in managing FMLA procedures and compliance; managing and completion of the affirmative action plan; workforce planning and talent development; completing annual, required reporting such as EEO-1; assisting in the development and implementation of HR related budgets; management of the compensation and benefits programs; and management and completion of the open enrollment process.
This position requires bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related degree and a minimum of three years related work experience with progressively responsible duties. Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification preferred. Ability to make good decisions. Good oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and computer skills required, with a strong desire towards detail and accuracy.
