The director provides overall leadership for the Office of Teaching and Learning, including its programs, budget, and personnel. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Provide leadership in the development and support of innovative, evidence-based, and emerging pedagogies across the institution.
-Creatively expand OTL programs, including peer review of teaching
-Apply for and manage educational grants related to teaching and learning
-Coordinate with Director of Assessment to support professional development related to assessment
-Coordinate with other campus units, including Disability Services, Information Technology Services, the Provost’s Office, and the Graduate School to support professional development related to teaching for faculty and graduate teaching assistants
-Oversee the College Teaching Certificate graduate program

-Earned doctorate degree
-A record of excellence in college teaching
-Success writing grants and managing externally-funded projects
-Experience with research-based instructional support, including peer review of teaching, faculty mentorship, or similar programs
-Expertise in the instructional use of technology
-Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge gained from the scholarship of teaching
-Evidence of effective oral and written communication and effective interpersonal skills
-Ability to work collaboratively
-Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion
-Demonstrated ability to work closely with and gain cooperation of university faculty from diverse disciplines
-Successful experience leading collaborative projects
-Knowledge and experience addressing issues of diversity and inclusion and a desire to be involved in cultural diversity initiatives
-Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in the methods of the scholarship of teaching
-Experience promoting excellence in teaching at the university level
-Leadership in research-based instructional support, including peer review of teaching, faculty mentorship, or similar programs
-Knowledge of K-12 educator professional development opportunities and requirements
