Position Description & Details:
The Post-Doctoral researcher will be responsible for carrying out the experiments, analyzing results and data with appropriate statistical methods, and have the ability to write scientific reports and manuscripts for publication, and deliver presentations at scientific meetings and/or to other interested parties. The successful candidate should have demonstrated experience with one or several research areas such as the molecular mechanisms of secondary metabolite production by fungi, mycotoxin production inhibitors and their modes of action, malting and brewing process. The post-doctoral researcher is also expected to assist in training and supervising student researchers, manage lab facilities, and perform other duties as requested by the PI. The initial appointment is for two years, with an opportunity for renewal for a second year depending on productivity and performance and the availability of funding.

•Holds an earned Ph.D. in cereal science, food science, biochemistry, microbiology, food safety, and related fields
•Strong research background and established publication record
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to write progress reports and present work in conference
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse groups and collaborators
•Demonstrated experience in Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), DNA/RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis and RT-qPCR, flow cytometer.
