Job Description:
Position Description & Details:  
The primary responsibilities of the position are to conduct research in virology and immunology [60%] and maintain a research lab [40%]. Research responsibilities will include comprehending the project objectives, designing and executing experiments, record keeping, and data analysis and manuscript preparation. Candidates with skills in working with laboratory animals, biotechnology, virology, molecular biology, immunology or life sciences will be preferred. Lab management duties include student training and supervision, and assisting with management of research projects, maintaining the inventory, equipment, safety training and records.  Will be working with biological and chemical hazards.

Responsibilities:

Work Schedule: 
M-F, 8-5

Advertised Salary: 
$40,000-50,000 - commensurate with experience

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:  

B.S in Microbiology, Biological or Life Sciences or related disciplines

Demonstrated experience in a research laboratory environment

Basic computer skills in MS Office 

Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

Ability to supervise and work well with students 


Preferred Qualifications:  

M.S or PhD in Microbiology, Biological or Life Sciences or related disciplines

Experience with animal experimentation

Experience with cell culture, virology, molecular biology and immunology techniques

Experience with scientific writing

Applicant should be reliable, organized, detail oriented, self-motivated and professional in a busy research-intensive laboratory
