Job Description:
Position Description & Details:

Seeking a highly motivated and independent person capable of analyzing data with a demonstrated record of published manuscripts. Experience developing genomic prediction models and integrating multispectral imaging data is required. This person will guide graduate students on thesis projects, collect and analyze spring wheat breeding program data, and work with a team of scientists toward an integrated platform of high-throughput phenotypic data analysis. A major responsibility will be cultivating published manuscripts from program data and assisting the program leader in high level data analysis. Experience working in a plant breeding program beyond the PhD is preferred.

Advertised Salary: $55,000 +/commensurate with experience

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in plant breeding and genetics
Experience in an applied plant breeding program
Demonstrated experience with genomic prediction
Previous experience operating a UAV for data collection in small plots, with a proper license
Demonstrated publication record in applied breeding and integrated high throughput phenotyping
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Ability to perform all field and greenhouse activities
Have or ability to receive a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

Research position after the PhD
Experience with wheat or other small grains research
