Position Description & Details:
The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and management for the operations team and student employees in the West Dining Center. The Operations Manager will work independently and with support and guidance from Dining leadership to oversee and manage a large, full-service, year-round, institutional dining operation. These responsibilities include overall leadership and management, facilities management, supervising safe operation and role modeling teamwork and customer service. The Operations Manager is expected to provide innovative dining opportunities, ensure culinary excellence, offer nutritious and appealing selections and maintain high levels of satisfaction for students, faculty, staff and guests.

Work Schedule: 
8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday, weekends and evenings as necessary

Advertised Salary: $48,000+/year

Minimum Qualifications:
*Associates degree/certificate in Hospitality, Culinary Arts, Dietetics, Food Service Management, Business or related field or equivalent work experience
*Minimum of 3 years of experience in a food service operation or its equivalent
*Food production experience required
*Experience as a trainer with the ability to develop/implement dining and hospitality training programs
*Working knowledge of food safety principles, food allergens and special dietary needs
*Experience with scheduling/controlling labor
*Experience in food purchasing, controlling/maintaining food costs, executing inventories correctly
*Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
*Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs
*Excellent interpersonal/oral/written communication skills with ability to work collaboratively with campus departments and staff
*Strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills
*Ability to quickly and effectively resolve issues that arise with both staff and customers in a constructive manner
*Excellent leadership qualities to implement a collaborative team environment
*Ability to convey professional behavior and attitude to a diverse staff and customer base
*Ability to provide excellent customer service to a diverse campus community
*Ability to work autonomously, independently and as part of a team
*Ability to take initiative
*Excellent time management skills with the ability to delegate, prioritize and multitask
*Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
*Ability to work well under pressure or in stressful situations in a professional manner

Preferred Qualifications:
*College or University food service experience preferred
*Experience with menu management software preferred
*Food Safety Certification preferred
