Job Description:
Position Description & Details:
*Provide leadership for the recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of staff for the NDSU Catering department and assist dining with all aspects of training and supervision of staff
*Responsible for the daily management of NDSU Catering
*Communicate expectations, goals, feedback through weekly meetings where the focus is on making things happen, on meeting objectives and solving problems that hinder progress
*Provide resources and tools for staff to do their jobs effectively, including new products and equipment
*Build cooperation and commitment to objectives and common goals and do this with the highest regard to professionalism and work standards

*Lead staff in the Catering- Responsible for the recruiting, hiring, training, supervising and evaluating staff
*Manage the daily operations of the Catering department to ensure that the needs of all NDSU students and dining staff are met
*Supervise safety and sanitation
*Role model teamwork and excellent customer service

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, evening and weekends as dictated by customer need

Advertised Salary:  $48,000+/year

Minimum Qualifications:
*Associates degree/certificate or equivalent work experience
*Minimum 3 years’ experience in a food service operation or its equivalent
*1 year catering experience required
*Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
*Working knowledge of food safety principles, food allergens, special dietary needs
*Experience with scheduling/controlling labor
*Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business levels
*Experience as a trainer with the ability to develop/implement dining and hospitality training programs
*Excellent interpersonal/oral/written communication skills with ability to work collaboratively with campus departments and staff
*Strong organizational skills
*Ability to quickly and effectively resolve issues that arise with both staff and customers in a constructive manner
*Excellent leadership qualities to implement a collaborative team environment
*Ability to convey professional behavior and attitude to a diverse staff and customer base
*Ability to provide excellent customer service to a diverse campus community
*Ability to work autonomously, independently and as part of a team
*Ability to take initiative
*Excellent time management skills with the ability to delegate, prioritize and multitask

Preferred Qualifications:
*College or University food service experience preferred
*Food Safety Certification preferred
