Position Description & Details:
Provide overall administrative support and management of the Student Activities Office and Memorial Union Student Employment program and payroll system while providing outstanding customer service and direct supervision to student employees at the Student Activities Office front desk.
The primary responsibilities of the position include serving as administrative secretary and office manager for the Student Activities Office; oversight of an efficient and customer service focused front desk; and providing administrative support to the Student Activities staff as assigned. Primary component of the position relates to administering student employee payroll and personnel functions for MU and SAO student employees; providing administrative leadership and management of the MU and SAO Student Employment program including ensuring sound practices for hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation for all MU and SAO student employees. Administrative functions include maintenance of the student employee handbook, the management of the student employee payroll, files, database, fall student employee orientation/training program, student employee professional development program, and student recognition programs.
Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. – 40 hours per week

*High School Diploma or GED.
*Minimum three years work experience in an office setting.
*Minimum 1-year experience supervising staff (full time, part time, student or Graduate Assistant).
*Experience in a fast-paced, multitask environment.
*Demonstrates ability to work with diverse students, faculty, and staff.
*Demonstrates success as a team player.
*Proficiency with computers & computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office products
*Associate Degree in a related field OR Bachelors Degree in related field
*HR functions (e.g. on-boarding, payroll, tracking training, etc.).
*Personal computer and software, budget management, and business machines.
