Job Description:
Position Summary:

The Department of Plant Sciences at the North Dakota State University is seeking a highly motivated and outstanding postdoctoral researcher to work in the food processing program of Dr. Minwei Xu and Dr. Bingcan Chen. The successful candidate will work on development of meat analogues with germinated pulse protein extracts. The postdoctoral researcher will focus on developing high moisture meat analogs with both lab and pilot scale twin-screw extruder and evaluating the physicochemical and rheological characteristics of final products.

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD degree in food science, food engineering, or a related field
Strong research experience in food engineering, novel food processing technologies, and food analysis
A consistent record of publications in high-quality journals
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional experience in computational simulation, and twin-screw extruder are desired

Advertised salary: $40,000+
