Job Description:
The purpose of this position is to monitor compliance with institutional equal opportunity policies and procedures, federal and state non-discrimination laws and regulations, and the University’s affirmative action plan; prepare institutional reports and responses related to equity and compliance; conduct and manage investigations in response to complaints related to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, sexual misconduct as reported to the office or otherwise put on notice; and provide related training for campus constituents.

Duties include:
1) Commitment to Service, Teamwork, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
2) Institutional Equal Opportunity and Title IX Compliance
3) Provide support for Equal Opportunity and Title IX Compliance Office
4) Conduct and manage investigations of alleged discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and/or sexual misconduct by faculty, staff, and students as reported to the office or as otherwise put on notice

Salary:  $55,000/year depending on experience and qualifications.

Minimum Requirements:
1) BS/BA or equivalent undergraduate degree related to Human Resources, social science, business, scientific, regulatory, or legal field
2)  Knowledge of federal and state civil rights laws and regulations, including Title VI, Title VII, ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, ADEA, and Title IX
3)  Demonstrated experience in conducting independent, complex investigations
4) Experience working with equal opportunity, affirmative action, and non-discrimination
5)  Ability to interpret applicable laws and regulations and determine appropriate compliance actions
6)  Ability to communicate compliance requirements to diverse audiences
7)  Ability to interact well with individuals and groups from varying backgrounds, including those related to protected classes
8)  Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
9)  Ability to handle complaints with sensitivity and neutrality
10) Ability to build effective collaborations and partnerships across University departments and units
11) Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
12)  Excellent attention to detail
13)  Proactive, customer service approach
14)  Ability to work independently and take initiative when needed
15) Sound professional judgment and problem-solving skills
16) Ability to work under tight deadlines and timeframes
17) Effective use of technology and computer skills

Preferred Requirements:
1)  Familiarity with affirmative action plans and accompanying responsibilities
2) Experience working in higher education
3) Certification from nationally recognized association (ATIXA, AAAED, etc.)
