Job Description:

Senior GIS Analyst serves as a team lead to deliver mapping solutions for primarily non-routine GIS projects by coordinating the production aspects of assigned projects with regard to map deliverables, web map solutions, and mobile applications; assist with clients' Enterprise GIS planning, implementation, and evaluation endeavors by demonstrating an advanced knowledge of GIS software and technology, data acquisition and storage, spatial analysis, and cartographic deliverables; represent the company and assist in growing the GIS service line by driving business development endeavors, project exploration and development, and client engagement; manage advanced projects independently.


Work closely with designers and engineers to understand the client's business issues and challenges in order to propose Geographic Information Systems (GIS) solutions.

Lead development of the project scope, estimates of effort, and other required resources to complete projects.

Propose GIS solutions to problems considering timeliness and effectiveness in addressing the client's needs.

Trace map elements to generate vector data that indicate specific coverage information or geographic attributes.

Design or prepare graphic representations of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data, using GIS hardware or software applications.

Analyze GIS data to identify spatial relationships or display results of analyses, using maps, graphs, or tabular data.

Design or coordinate the development of integrated GIS spatial or non-spatial databases.

Perform maintenance or modification of its spatial data stores, processing, and analytical functions.

Enter data into Geographic Information Systems (GIS) databases, using techniques such as coordinate geometry, keyboard entry of tabular data, manual digitizing of maps, scanning or automatic conversion to vectors, or conversion of other sources of digital data.

Review existing and incoming data for currency, accuracy, usefulness, quality, or completeness of documentation.

Development of organization-wide GIS standards and policies.

Participate in ongoing client contact and support including presentations and relationship building activities.

Working knowledge of relevant operating systems, software, and program.

Review diagnostics and assess the functionality and efficiency of systems.

You have a bachelor's degree in Geography, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, or related field and/or combination of education and experience.

You are building on 10+ plus years of experience with geospatial analysis projects and/or geospatial solution engineering.

Strong geospatial technology knowledge, including some or all of: Esri's Web GIS software including ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal, Server), ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Apps Suite, ArcGIS Insights and ArcGIS Pro + Business Analyst software suite or similar platform and software packages.

Preferred technical knowledge regarding IT systems and processes.


This position is in our Minot, ND office; however occasional travel to other locations and business conferences may be required on an occasional basis.
