Job Description:
Position Description & Details:

The Community Health Program Coordinator will work collaboratively with a team of Extension professionals to address community health issues (diabetes prevention and health equity) across North Dakota. This grant-funded temporary position is 0.7 FTE and is 100% remote. Supervision is provided by the FCW Assistant Director.

Responsibilities:

This position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

Provide assistance to the North Dakota Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP)

Maintain certification as a Lifestyle Coach for the Diabetes Prevention Program
Train and mentor Lifestyle Coaches to facilitate the Diabetes Prevention Program
Coordinate and lead programming efforts
Attend regular meetings
Work with Community Health and Nutrition Specialist lead to provide required reporting and evaluation data

Program Coordination of Health Equity Project

Recruit community coaches in identified communities
Coordinate training and other outreach events
Coordinate regular meetings and calls with team and partners
Build, establish, and/or maintain partnerships
Assist in developing materials needed for the project
Manage reporting of project activities
Guide implementation of specific programs associated with the project

Read and abide by all the rules and regulations at NDSU as outlined in the NDSU Policy Manual.
Be an active learner and keep current with new teaching strategies, advances in the professional field, technology, news and related research.
Be self-directed with minimal supervision in the work environment.
Contribute to a positive work environment through cooperation, collaboration and teamwork with others by developing and maintaining good working relationships with co-workers, staff, employees and clientele.

Work Schedule: 28 hours/week, hours flexible Monday-Friday.

Advertised Salary: $41,000+

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree, by start date, in a discipline related to the responsibilities of the position.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, access, and inclusiveness.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with individuals, groups and through mass media.
Effective interpersonal skills, including ability to interact and collaborate effectively with a diversity of colleagues.
Organizational management skills including the ability to conduct oneself professionally, be self-directed in the work environment and work flexible hours.
Manage time and resources to efficiently accomplish the duties of the position.
Basic computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Teams).
Extension work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience coaching or mentoring others.
Experience designing and delivering educational programs.
Experience using distance education for the development and delivery of programs.
Understanding of policy, systems and environmental (PSE) change efforts for health promotion.
