Job Description:
Position Description & Details: The Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering Department at the North Dakota State University invites post-doctoral applications to participate a NSF Track-2 RII program. The project will be stationed at North Dakota State University in the Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering Department.

Responsibilities:

Executing research activities for the AI SUSTEIN Track-2 RII project, including but not limited to performing researches in reliability analysis of power and pipeline systems, developing artificial intelligence for energy network systems, failure analysis of energy networks, structural health monitoring of energy network systems, etc., writing journal papers and technical reports.
Assisting in managing a small team of assistant researchers (several PhD, masters, and undergraduate students) who will carry out this research.
Assisting advising several PhD students regarding to their research and dissertation progress.
Being responsible for frequent communication in the interest of common understanding, research progress, and effective mentoring with the adviser assigned to the candidate.
Contributing the best efforts to the program in which the candidate works, including gaining new research skills, contributing efforts to execute related projects, and concludes research project in a timely manner.

Advertised Salary: $36,000 +

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires PhD degree in engineering from a regionally accredited college or university
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive AI related research and academic publication experience
Senior level experience in statistical and machine learning modeling skills
Direct experience working with interdisciplinary settings
Current experience with stakeholders, state governmental agencies, railroad industry, and relevant professional associations.
