Job Description:
Position Description & Details: The Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (IME) Department invites applications for a nine-month Assistant Professor Practice, with an anticipated starting date of August 16, 2022.Thi s position will be 90 percent teaching, and 10 percent service.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include supporting NDSU’s land-grant mission of teaching, and service. Specifically, the successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of manufacturing and industrial engineering. Candidates with strength in management, engineering economics, quality control, and manufacturing are especially encouraged to apply, although all areas of industrial and manufacturing engineering will be considered.

Work Schedule: 9 month academic contract

Advertised Salary: Commensurate with qualifications – up to $75,000 (9-month)

Minimum Qualifications:

hold a PhD or MS degree with 10 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing engineering, or a closely related discipline
have excellent speaking and writing skills
have credentials to teach a variety of courses in industrial and manufacturing engineering, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
have interest and an ability to interact and collaborate effectively with a diversity of colleagues and students

Preferred Qualifications:

have a Ph.D. in industrial or manufacturing engineering or similar background
have at least one degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering
prior teaching experience
experience in statistical methods
experience in engineering economics
experience in Manufacturing
