Job Description:
The Center for Entrepreneurship and Family Business, along with the Sheila and Robert Challey Institute for Global Innovation & Growth (Challey Institute), at North Dakota State University invites motivated researchers to apply for a 2-year Postdoctoral Fellow position focused on entrepreneurship and/or family business. The position entails conducting research leading to scholarly publication in leading academic journals and teaching one undergraduate course in entrepreneurship or family business each semester. In addition, you are expected to attend Challey Institute events (speakers, conferences, workshops) and contribute positively toward the Institute’s mission with your research.

The Center for Entrepreneurship and Family Business and the Challey Institute have prioritized impactful, informative research. We are seeking a highly ambitious "rising star" that is interested in collaborating with a team of scholars dedicated to advancing and promoting research with groundbreaking potential. The Center’s and Institute’s teams of researchers have published in top entrepreneurship and management journals such as Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Research Methods, Entrepreneurship & Regional Development, International Small Business Journal, and the Entrepreneurship Research Journal.

NDSU’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Family Business is housed with the College of Business. The Center for Entrepreneurship and Family Business engages in research and teaching that inspires the next-generation of problem-solvers, the next exchange of research ideas, and the next collision of people who might not normally interact. The Sheila and Robert Challey Institute for Global Innovation & Growth is an interdisciplinary institute that aims to advance understanding in the areas of innovation, trade, institutions, and human potential to identify policies and solutions for the betterment of society. North Dakota State University is a Carnegie R1 research institution, a distinction presented to only the top research institutions in the country. The College of Business is an AACSB accredited institution with approximately 1443 undergraduate students.

The start date is negotiable with a preference to have the successful candidate start in August 2022. Annual salary is $70K and the benefits are competitive. In addition, financial support is awarded for presentations and other contributions to the Center for Entrepreneurship and Family Business.

Required Job Qualifications

Applicants must have or be pursuing a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship or a related field from an AACSB-accredited institution. To be considered, candidates must provide convincing evidence that their doctorate degree will be completed by position start date.
An established record of publishing empirical research in top-tier, peer reviewed, academic journals, or a demonstrated potential to do so, is required.
Candidates must also have the interest and ability to effectively teach courses in entrepreneurship and conduct research with colleagues.
Effective oral and written communication skills

We seek an individual who aspires to develop a research program within the broad area of how entrepreneurship can contribute to societal well-being.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in multiple research methods and complement the research strengths of the faculty working in the Center.
