Job Description:
This position is funded by grant money for year, with hope to renew after the year (though no 100% assurance)
Will engage in day-to-day operations of CCAST data centers; champion and apply data center best practices and help formulate CCAST usage policies, clearly communicate them to clients, and enforce them in a reasonable and consistent manner
Help develop and maintain the CCAST website and knowledge base
Prepare reports, presentations, and assist in communicating them to stakeholders
Participate in relationships with information technology firms and computer equipment vendors
Train, coach, develop and supervise student employees
Design and benchmark new services and resources as part of procurement/operations/continuous improvement process
Identify, measure, and provide feedback from metrics on the research impact of CCAST’s service
Work Schedule: 
normally M - F, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Advertised Salary: 
$60,000+/year, commensurate with experience

Minimum Qualifications:
*Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
*1 or more years’ experience with administrator privileges on a significant computer system.
*Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
*Highly effective interpersonal and diplomacy skills
*Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
*Proficiency in one or more of the following computer programming languages: C, C++, FORTRAN, Java, Python or equivalent
*Familiarity with data movement optimization, TCP/IP networking and data management tools

Preferred Qualifications:
*2 years or more experience with Linux/Unix systems on high-end computing platforms
*A US Citizen or US Permanent Resident is preferred — persons in this position may be required to handle export controlled or other sensitive information
*Demonstrated leadership abilities and project management skill
