Job Description:
Position Description & Details:   
Provide leadership for the recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of staff for the Catering and Retail departments and assist dining with all aspects of training and supervision of staff
Responsible for the daily management of Catering and Retail operations
Communicate expectations, goals, feedback through weekly meetings where the focus is on excellent customer service, accomplishing goals and meeting objectives and continuous improvement
Provide resources and tools for staff to do their jobs effectively, including new products and equipment
Build cooperation and commitment to objectives and common goals and do this with the highest regard to professionalism and work standards. 
Collaboration with all campus departments to provide Catering and Retail services
Responsibilities: 

Lead staff in Catering and Retail Services and responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, supervising and evaluating staff.
Manage the daily operations in Catering and Retail to ensure that the needs of all NDSU customers, students and dining staff are met
Manage facilities and financial operations in Catering and Retail Services 
Supervise safe and sanitary operations of units
Role model teamwork and excellent customer service
Work Schedule:    Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 5:00 pm, evenings, weekends, holidays as needed

Advertised Salary:
$80,000+/yr

Minimum Qualifications: 
*Bachelor’s degree-Hospitality Management, Dietetics, Food Service Management, Culinary Arts, Business or other related field
*Minimum 7 years of progressive hospitality or food service experience required including 3 years of management (Catering/Retail *Management preferred) in a high-volume food service operation
*Minimum 3 years supervisory experience
*Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, ability to learn other software applications as needed
*Working knowledge of food safety principles, food allergens, special dietary needs
*Experience in food purchasing, controlling/maintaining food costs, executing inventories correctly
*Experience with scheduling/controlling labor costs
*Demonstrated experience with financial management of complex event budgets requiring excellent analytical skills
*Experience with recipe and menu creation and pricing
*Keen knowledge of food trends, flavors, pricing and presentation
*Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business demands
*Experience as a trainer with the ability to develop/implement dining and hospitality training programs
*Knowledge of menu management software or related ordering/catering software
*Excellent interpersonal/oral/written communication skills with ability to work collaboratively with campus departments and staff
*Detail-oriented
*Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, prioritizing skills and the ability to work with sense of urgency
*Excellent leadership qualities to implement a collaborative team environment
*Excellent time management skills with the ability to delegate, prioritize and multitask
*Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
*Valid Driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:
*College or university food service experience preferred.
*3 years catering/retail experience preferred.
*Food management software experience preferred
*Food safety certification preferred
*Food allergy training certification preferred
